Not all UnZipping programs look the same, but the same concept apply's. DO NOT OPEN folders within the zip file, simply choose to extract all files, the zip file is set up just the way it needs to be installed! |
![]() |
Locate your C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface folder. The zip file will extract a folder called AddOns in to that folder. If the AddOns folder already exists, please delete the old AddOns folder Before unzipping. |
![]() First Login, Press the AddOns button in the bottom left of your character screen |
![]() This will bring up a screen like this, this screen lists all the addons and allows you to turn them on or off for each character (selectable in the top left of that new screen) First thing to do is make sure you select "Load out of date AddOns" |
![]() Some of the AddOns default to off, so check the entire list to make sure wanted AddOns are selected and unwanted AddOns are unselected |
![]() Also, there are some AddOns that are Class or Profession specific and do not need to be enabled if your do not have a character that fits the requirements. These are optional AddOns and should be disabled for all toons except the ones that will benefit from that AddOns. I have generated a list below of these AddOns and the class/prof they go with. |
*!*I recommend disabling AutoBar the first time you load... This gives you a chance to set up your bartender and other addons before tackling this task*!* |
Shaman |
Hunter |
Warlock |
| TotemTimers | Fizzwidget Feed-O-Matic FuBar - PetinFu FuBar - PetinfoFu |
FuBar - SoulJarFu |
Healing Class |
Enchanter |
|
| HealBot | Enchantrix Enchantrix-Barker |
![]() The first time you log in your screen will be a mess. Pressing the Esc key a couple of times will clean up some of the garbage on the screen. (you can re-open these AddOns later if you want) The first step will be closing down some of the other AddOns that Esc did not get so that you can see your Action Bars The MiniMap and buttons will be centered, click and drag them out of the way... some of the buttons will be hidden under the Action Bars, That's okay we'll get them later. |
![]() First things first, Move your chat box by right clicking the "General" tab and selecting Unlock Window then after placing it where you want it Next type /bar to access the Bartender config menu By clicking Lock in the upper corner then dragging position your action bars where you want the (Use as few or as many as you like) Move the un-used bars to a central part of the screen and turn them off by selecting the bar in the list and uncheck "Enable" You can also turn off the Pet, Roll, Bag, Key & Menu bars the same way. Since those items are accessible elsewhere you do not necessarily need these bars on. (Except the Pet bar, if your are a hunter or Warlock) |
![]()
After you have set up your bars the size and way you want them, it's time to configure the rest... not much left really... |
![]() While the Bartender config is still open, you can adjust almost every aspect of your bars. From size to scale to fade. This configuration is extremely customizable Play with it a bit and see how you like it. You can also turn off any bar by selecting the bar, then un checking "Enabled" The bag bar can also be consolidated into One Bag icon, which comes in handy when your typing and you need to access your bag! |
![]() x-Pearl controls your Player, Target, & Party Unit frames. Everything from their size, color, position and functionality. in my opinion this is a very fun and important AddOn in regards to the look and function of your unit frames. I highly recommend playing with this one to see what suits you best. To start find the x-Pearl menu button (which looks like a pearl) and left click it open the menu. |
![]() This is what the Menu looks like, there are tabs at the top to edit the look of each type of Unit Frame. Once this menu is open it unlocks the player frame and allows you to relocate this frame to a better position on the screen (as you can see mine defaulted 1/2 into my FuBar above so I need to click and drag it down so I can see it - The next screen shot illustrates this) |
![]() After you have set all your options for your player, target, party, & pet frames you can save that profile and apply the same settings to all your characters with one simple mouse click. Or save multiple profiles for your characters with pets and with out... whatever, the choice is yours! |
![]() Now that we're done with that, we move on to that mess of things at the top of your screen. That is called your FuBar, and it contains the menu icons for the remainder of your AddOns as well as lots of useful information, although everything defaults to have it's text on, and honestly you just don't need all that text, so turn some of it off! To do that you right click on each icon, which brings up a menu for that AddOn. Each menu will have an option to "show text" simply uncheck this option for allot of the icons. At least until you can see them all =) Now there are certain AddOn icons you will want to have text, such as DurabilityFu, GuildFu, or Recommended Zones. You can leave the text on these since it may be easier to get the information from them at a glance. |
May of your New Addons have Key Bindings that make using them easier... by pressing the Esc key, you can access the Key Bindings menu. Scroll through this list... you'll be surprised what you can key bind... Some things you don't need to bother with, other things like GoGoPet make life easier! |
![]() At any time during game play, you notice an AddOn is not turned on, or needs to be turned off press the Esc key and select the "AddOns" menu. |
![]() From this menu you can see all the AddOns currently loaded, enabled or not. Highlighting over each AddOn will give you a brief description of what each one does. Un checking will disable any AddOn. Certain AddOns are Dynamically loadable which means they don't load automatically and you have to turn them on, these AddOns will have a "load" button next to them allowing you to turn them on from this screen. When you are done here, you must Reload your UI before any changes will take effect, to do this there is a button located in the bottom right of your AddOns menu, your WoW will display a loading screen while the UI's are being reloaded (CAUTION: this does not take you out of the game, so be in a safe place when you do this, you can still be attacked and die while reloading your UI ) |
